If I take up muay thai kickboxing will I be a good fighter?
Im 15 right but when im 16 im planning on doing Muay Thai Kickboxing because I love the sport and also for self-defense. Also will I be stronger or better at fighting than my friends? All my friends are cut or muscular or just big and im the smallest one. Im not big im not cut nor muscular.
2 years is usually enough to make you able to defend yourself against average morons who assault you.
If you train longer then the full answer to 4 of your questions is ABSOLUTELY.
Muai Thai is arguably the best striking martial art out there, outclasses boxing, kickboxing and karate- way up there with Tae Kwon Do and Kung Fu.
Oh and sorry to break it to you but the thing about you not being to be cut and muscular… you’re going to be!
The amount of training they force on you is very important to muscle development, although you’re probably going to be focused on flexibility for those high kicks.
I think a lot of that depends on you and how hard you work and train and how well you learn. Many people want to be good fighters but that is easier said than done and to be good takes dedication, sacrifice, time, and effort on your part. There were a lot of times that I was in the gym training or working out while my buddies would be home relaxing, hanging out, watching television or getting together for a few beers. Girlfriends even would sometimes get a little jealous and/or sometimes resent the time and energy that it took. As I see it while you are not quite old enough to drink while your buddies are chasing girls, playing video games, or playing sports in school you may have to make some of the same choices and sacrifices and only time will tell as to what choices you make and what you do.

it depends on your instructor but in general you will most likely get tougher not stronger.

muay thai is pretty elite when it comes to styles, a good inside leg kick is all you need for guys 3x your size… just keep it on them and keep running from them and eventually they will drop… thats just one tactic.. muay thai all-in-all is very great. you should definitely join.

You’ll be a better fighter if your friends don’t train in any martial arts. Then again i’ve seen a big football player beat up a boxer that claims he’s trained for over 10 yrs. So stay humble even though you know more then your friends.
