or just go to the clinch and throw a jumping knee with the standing leg. it wont have as much power as a regular jumping knee since that other leg is not stable but it does damage

  • rivercards says:

    catching the leg is …
catching the leg is a good defensive technique especially since a lot of people who get their legs caught dont really know what to do if they find themselves in that situation. the technique though is easily countered just by reaching forward and grabbing a clinch and leaning into the opponent allowing the standing leg enough space so it cant be sweeped easily or a counter offensive technique from the catcher would also have much less power if he is able to throw one.

    Unless you’re in …
Unless you’re in California, its gonna be very hard to find a good Sanshou school. I know theres a legit one in Cambridge, Mass as well.

M.T. however has lots of good schools around the country. This is part of the reason why more MMA guys utilize that style of striking.

If you’re a beginnner and don’t know a thing I’d start with western style boxing and move off of that. Every good athelite in MMA cross trains Western Boxing with either M.T. or S.S.

gavinoferell there is more than one form of tkd if you didnt know. ya i would aggree that olympic tkd is not that great. but traditional tkd however is a completely diffrent form of tkd. its nothing like the tkd you see in the olympics. you use hands as much as you use your feet. i would like to see you fight one of those guys then say that they suck. youd get your handed to you.

  • GavinOFerrell says:

    tkd does suck …
tkd does suck because its pure kicking. I know in world taekwondo federation (lol WTF) you cant grab kicks at all or really throw punches. tkd sold out to get into the olympics imo.
